      I’m afraid not. At least, not in the big sense of the word ‘invention’. However, I’m often coming up with little tricks to help me in my everyday life.

      This might be a short computer program to help speed up my job by automatically carrying out tasks I’d have to repeat. Or a little contraption to wire up all my electronic equipment through the same sound system. These aren’t exactly inventions that I can sell on the mass market, but they make my life a little better!

      I’m made crystals that no-one has ever made before. They have not been used for anything (yet) but helped other people to understand how different chemicals react with each other.

      I’ve come up with new methods and techniques, which might be considered an invention. Also, I helped to come up with new kinds of tiny structures that mimic the structures on butterfly wings. I used this to make a sensor that can tell you what chemicals are on its surface, which could be used to work out if people are sick or not from looking at just a drop of their blood!
