Natalie Garrett answered on 12 Nov 2015:

I’ve always been interested in the world around me. Even as a tiny kid, I’d take things apart to learn how they worked, and I’d spend hours studying the behaviour of animals and insects to learn more about them. When I went to school and was taught what science was, I realised that this is what I wanted to do with my life. I wasn’t always sure what type of scientist I wanted to be, but I knew I loved science too much to do anything else for a job.
