I’ve always enjoyed physics the most. I loved finding out ‘how things work’, and have always liked to pick apart machines and understand electronics. Because it incorporates things like forces, energy and electricity, physics lets me explore these!

Although I am a chemist – I find astronomy really fascinating. I didn’t go on to study it in detail because there was too much maths involved (and I don’t enjoys maths so much!).

There are so many different areas of science – so even if you don’t like one area, there are many more to take a look at!

For me, it’s got to be Biophotonics (the science of imaging, manipulating and characterising biological samples). I think the most exciting discoveries are made when you work at the cross-over between the sciences. In Biophotonics, you use Chemistry, Physics and Biology to answer questions that are really relevant to society. Also, you get to use hella cool lasers and cutting-edge technology to do it!
