I discovered a new crystal by accident that no-one had every discovered before!

I was doing an experiment and I turned the wrong tap so that 2 chemicals mixed together. I tried to fix it, but I did it wrong and went for lunch – I came back and found crystals had grown in the flask. The lunch was very nice too….

It was the first time anyone had made crystals like these and helps to understand the structure of silicon compounds.
