I know it’s easy to say this but: don’t stress! Whatever you take you will still have options in the future.

If you had a definite profession in mind then sometimes there are subjects you have to take (for example, if you want to be a medical doctor then you will need biology). However, if you don’t really know specifically what job you want (most people don’t – I certainly didn’t) then they all offer you great opportunities .

I took all three at GCSEs, and I would definitely recommend all three as great subjects that give you a good grounding in all areas of science. If you want to specialise later then you can do this later (for example, if you choose to study A Levels then you might only want to do one or two then). Your teachers will be able to offer you good advice on how the timetable fits together in your school and what options there are, but if you like science then for GCSEs I think taking all 3 is the way to go.

I agree with Aaron: don’t stress. Even if you end up wishing you’d done different subjects, you could always do other GCSEs later on. People change their minds all the time. A lot of my friends from school ended up doing different GCSEs after their first round, because they changed their minds about what they wanted to do. It’s OK to not be sure.

It’s a good idea to pick what you like and can get the best grades in, and if you change your mind in the future, you can always do other things.

Do you have any teachers at school you like and could give you advice on this?
