I would have to say it is where I am living now, in Japan.

I’ve lived in France for a while and that was good.
I’m going to live in the US (Los Angeles) soon.
And I’d find India a really interesting place to live.
I recently saw a job advert for a short term position in Japan which I thought would be interesting but I didn’t meet the application criteria.

I don’t think you should definitely say “I want to live in this one place”, better to think about what it is you find interesting about living in a place, think about where that would be interesting and always try to find opportunities to say yes to a new and interesting experience, whether that’s a place or anything else.

There’s so many places I want to visit! But ‘visit’ is different to ‘live’, so that’s a hard question…

I’ve visited a few places in Scandinavia where I really enjoyed the lifestyle – like Oslo in Norway and Copenhagen in Denmark. Everyone there seemed to be fun, friendly, eat good food and drink good drinks. The cities are clean and nice, and there’s some great scenery, too. So, if I had to choose, I wouldn’t mind living somewhere there. Perhaps Stockholm in Sweden – I really love being by the water.

I have visited a lot of countries – Science careers allow you to travel loads, so you can speak about your work to international experts. I’ve been to Australia, Japan and a lot of Europe. Of the places I’ve visited, Dubrovnik in Croatia was probably my favourite (it’s like some of the nicer places in Westeros in Game of Thrones). However, my favourite place to be is wherever is closest to my friends and family. I know it sounds corny, but I’d rather be with people I love than in an awesome place but be lonely!
