Natalie Garrett answered on 20 Nov 2015:
As with all research, there is the possibility that it could be used for negative purposes. However my main motivation is to help people, so I would be very sad if the nanoparticles I’m working on were used to poison people or something in the future. We’re pretty sure that won’t happen, though, because we have patented the nanoparticles, which means that we get to decide how they get used (at least for now).
