      As with a lot of these questions, it comes down to what you mean by ‘think’…but the simple answer is yes!

      Ever seen a dog hunting for its ball, and then finding it somewhere it saw you go? It used its brain to connect what it has seen to what it wants, and it has thought about how to do it.

      Ever seen a dog walk up to the door, then to you, then back to the door, wanting to be let out? Perhaps it is thinking how best to show you it needs to get out.

      Dogs might not be able to do complicated calculations, or wonder about the future, but for their here-and-now needs they definitely use their brains.
